If you enjoy your paddling then come down and join in the
excitement of the Outer Edge Crit Series. The aim of the series is
to get people out on the water in a fun, safe and competitive
environment. There is more than $20,000 in cash and prizes to be
won, including a Stellar SR ocean ski, SUP board and paddle from
Sunny King, more great SUP accessories from SUP HQ, plus heaps of
giveaways from 2XU and Go Natural nutritional snacks.
When?
- Race 5: Thursday 29 March, 2012
- Registration: 5:30pm-6:15pm
- Race start: 6:30pm sharp
- Presentations: 7:45pm sharp

Mandatory equipment:
PFDs and boat leashes must be worn at all times. PFDs can be
supplied by race management for an extra $15. Leashes are available
for purchase on the day for $50. A boat leash is worth owning if
you do any open water paddling.

2 laps: 8km

Category descriptions:
Under 20 years of age:
Must be 20 or under at time of first event of the series
Over 40:
Must be 40 or over at time the first event of the series
Over 50:
Must be 50 or over at time of first event of the series
Mixed Double/ Mixed OC2:
Any mixed team of a male and female competitors OR an Open and
Under 15 competitor (can be both male).
Under 20 Double:
One competitor must be 20 or under at time of first event of the
series

Outer Edge Crit winner, male and female (Ski, SUP 12'6" and
under, OC1):
- 1st $100
- 2nd $60
- 3rd $30
- 4th $25
(Only when there are 10 or more craft in each category described
above)

- As a rule, special prizes will be awarded to FIRST PLACEGETTERS
in all remaining categories ONLY IF THERE ARE THREE OR MORE
COMPETITORS ENTERED IN THAT CATEGORY. However, the race organiser
may choose to allocate prizes to categories with fewer than three
competitors at his/her discretion.
- You must be at presentations to collect your prize - if you
miss the presentation, you will miss out on your prize.
Outer Edge Crit Series Champion, male and female (Ski, SUP
12'6" and under, OC1):
Awarded to the paddler who has accumulated the most points over
the series in their category (ski, SUP 12'6" and under, OC1).
Series points scoring:
How the points work:
- All events are awarded equal points
- Points are awarded for overall position (male and female, all
categories included)
- Overall points will be taken from your top-four results
Competitors are awarded points as follows:
- 500 points for 1st place
- 499 points for 2nd place
- 498 points for 3rd place, and so on.
