For the second year running the Outlaw Ocean Paddling will
support its charity partner the YMCA & the inland Outrigger
club base at Echuca by competing in the Echuca Mini.
This 50km flat water race is an excellent way to start the Outlaw
season for both endurance and early series points.
Those paddlers accustomed to crashing through waves or screaming
downwind legs will have to put them on hold and go back to days of
clocking up the km's by man power to complete this event.
Held on Sunday, 17 October, 2010, this is a great event with money
going to the YMCA to help people in need. Also with such a positive
result from the Outlaw paddlers last year and large participation
numbers the YMCA this year will be donating an OUTLAW Trophy.
So test yourself your technique & endurance and see you at the
start-line for Outlaw 1st event of this season. (Outlaw Paddling
events were never meant to be easy )
Event information:
Starting in Barmah and finishing 50km away under the bridge in
Echuca. Race course has only two rest/check points, the first at
the 17km mark, the second 21km later. Don't expect to see anything
else but your fellow competitors for the next three to four hours
of racing, depending on which type of craft you paddle.
Take the challenge ocean paddlers! This race has been put on with
the YMCA for you to test yourself over a completely different
paddling course and distance. This event is ideal preparation and
training for your marathon experience.
