Series
Welcome to the home of ocean racing in Victoria
Outlaw Paddling is proud to bring you
two exciting Ocean Racing Series in 2012/13.
2012/13 Outlaw Crits Series
Want to cool off after work while
getting fit and having fun? Want to test your skills against
Victoria's best paddlers? Then grab your ski, SUP, outrigger or
paddleboard and head to Port Melbourne for the ultimate post-work
cool-off. Held on the last Thursday of the month from October
through to March (excl. December), these graded races are perfect
for beginners wanting some ocean racing experience, or old salts
wanting a competitive work out with the possibility of great cash
prizes. And don't say the Bay can't give you some runners!
2013 Outlaw Ocean Series
Comprising two races in 2013, this is
the ultimate in downwind daring. The marquee event of the series is
the Great Ocean Paddle, a 26km epic downwinder from Anglesea to
Torquay on February 2nd, 2013. This is ocean racing at its purest,
taking in a remote, iconic coastline that traverses the famout
Bells Beach and Winkipop. A half-distance course is once again on
offer to the less hard-core. But be warned - this is not for the
faint hearted!
And don't forget the Battle of Barwon
Heads on February 17. Taking in the calm waters of the Barwon
River, plus the surf off Barwon Heads, this has something for
everyone, from the SUP crew to the ski and outrigger guys and
gals.

Not everyone was entirely successful in this pursuit, but hats off to everyone who took on the once again challenging conditions to cap off another exciting season of ocean racing.

Race Wrap: The Great Ocean Paddle
Wednesday, 6, February 2013 by Jarad
After several attempts at the title, it was finally Mick Leverett’s day at the 2013 Great Ocean Paddle. The usually contained former K1 marathon champ couldn’t hide his grin as he dragged his ski up through the finishing flags, pipping narrow race favourite and local guru, Tim Altman, by just half a minute. Rounding out the top three in the men’s Pro ski field was Queenslander Adam McKane.
